Cookies
TFT Set Databasesets no cookies by default. Google Analytics loads for every visitor — it runs on Google’s Consent Mode v2, which needs the script present to work at all — but it only sets a cookie or assigns your browser an identifier if you actively accept in the banner shown on your first visit. Reject or ignore it and Google gets nothing more than an anonymous, cookieless signal it can fold into aggregate traffic modelling; nothing that could identify you individually is ever sent without consent.
Vercel Web Analytics — always on
Traffic measurement uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design. It records a page view without storing an identifier on your device, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit. This one is not optional because it sets nothing on your device to consent to.
Google Analytics — cookie only if you accept
Google Analytics (GA4) loads in the background for every visitor, but starts denied: no cookie, no identifier, nothing beyond an anonymous ping Google may use for aggregate modelling of visitors who haven’t made a choice yet. If you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, it sets a first-party cookie (typically named _ga and _ga_<container-id>) that assigns your browser a random identifier, used to distinguish repeat visits from new ones and to build aggregate usage reports. We do not use it for advertising, and we cannot connect that identifier to your name or any other personal information.
Change your mind at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page — accepting later, or withdrawing an earlier acceptance, both take effect immediately and clear the stored choice so the banner asks again.
Local storage
Your cookie choice itself — accepted or rejected — is saved in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, under the key cookie-consent. That is true even if you reject: we still need to remember not to ask again on your next visit.
Two more entries, both written only if you play TFTdle: your daily streak, and the guesses you have made today so that reloading the page does not restart the puzzle. All of it stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser storage removes it. Nothing identifies you, and nothing else on the site writes to storage at all — the search box and the team builder keep everything in memory for the length of the visit.
Advertising, if that changes
Advertising and affiliate links are planned. Neither is live yet. When they arrive, third-party cookies will be involved, and this page will be updated before the first ad does — not afterwards.
